Ingredients

African Red Palm Oil - is the oil from native, organically grown Dura oil palm fruit (Elais guineensis) from Togo, West Africa. Red palm oil is palm oil that is traditionally made and maintains the natural nutrients of beta carotenes (precursors to Vitamin A) and the antioxidant tocotrienols (Vitamin E). So nourishing to the skin!

Aloe Vera - The mucilaginous juice or gel obtained from the leaves of this plant, widely used in cosmetic and pharmaceutical preparations for its soothing and healing properties. Known to help reduce external scarring, relieve sunburn pains, scratches and cuts. It is an aid to growing new tissue and alleviating the advance of skin cancer caused by the sun. It is a treatment for ringworm, boils, inflamed joints, scalds, itchy allergic conditions, insect stings and bites. It creates a softening of external skin, relief from dry or sensitive skin and skin diseases. We use our own home grown Aloe Vera that contains no preservatives or dyes - strictly organic.

Almond Oil - Pale yellow fatty oil expressed from sweet or bitter almonds. A very good massage oil and is beneficial for dry skin and helps relieve itching, soreness and dryness. It is reported to be soothing, healing, lubricating, softening, revitalizing and nourishing. Good for sensitive or irritated skin.

Apricot Seeds - Seeds retained from the fruit of the Apricot. Great for exfoliation.

Apricot Meal - Originating in central Asia, apricot kernels are ground into a fine powder that makes for an excellent exfoliant.

Avocado Oil - Penetrates the skin more deeply than other plant oils and is therefore an ideal base for transdermal treatments and a natural carrier for added supplements to reach the deepest target areas. This oil is pressed from the fruit itself. Avocado is high in antioxidants that give it a longer shelf life than would be expected. It contains fatty acids, vitamins and lecithin. Avocado oil readily penetrates into the upper layers of the skin. It is used to treat eczema and solar keratosis. It is very nice for dry and weathered skin.

Baking Soda - Also known as bicarbonate of soda, baking soda is used as a leavener in baked goods. When combined with an acid ingredient such as Citric Acid (used in our bath bombs) the baking soda produces carbon dioxide gas bubbles, thereby causing a fizzing reaction to occur.

Bentonite Clay -Contains more than 70 trace minerals, but its unique healing ability comes from the clay's negative charge. (Gelatin also used in fining has a positive charge). The negative charge of bentonite is responsible for its amazing detoxifying properties: as a magnet for the toxic elements in our body - heavy metals, pesticides, and free radicals - which are positively charged efficiently absorbent and drawn into the porous surface of the clay. When mixed with water, bentonite 'swells up' (this is imperceptible to the naked eye) and becomes very porous. The electrical and molecular components change and produce an electrical charge. This enables it to absorb toxins from the pores. Toxins are drawn into the clay through electrical attraction and then bound to the clay molecules to be washed away.

Beeswax - Wax produced by bees that has been processed for use in items as a hardening agent.

Calendula Flowers - A Mediterranean annual plant (Calendula officinalis) in the composite family, widely cultivated for its showy, yellow or orange, rayed flower heads that were formerly used in medicine. Calendula Flowers have a long history as skin softeners. They are very soothing to sensitive and dry skins and are excellent additions to facial soap.

Carrot Powder - high in retinol A, beta-carotene and A - carotenoid, farcinol, and cryptoxanthin, lycopene, lutein and zeazanthin. Carrot contains sodium, zinc, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid, folate, vitamins A, B6, B12, C, E, and K, beta-carotene protein, carbohydrates, fiber, sugars, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium. Good for allergies, anemia, rheumatism, and tonic to the nervous system. With optimized behaviors (adequate rest and a healthy diet) carrot is known to contribute to improved vision. Good for treating diarrhea, constipation, intestinal inflammation, for cleansing the blood, and as an immune system tonic. Carrot is beneficial in weakness, illness and in treating rickets. An English-Danish study found falcarinol might prevent cancer. Carrots are well known for containing beta-carotene, a pre-cursor in the body's production of vitamin A. Carrots with a rate of 49 in the Glycemic Index provide for more constant blood sugar levels. Vitamin A assists in boosting immune system function and also for healthy vision. Some carotenoids, like zeaxanthin and lutein, are important for preventing cataracts and macular degeneration, which is a leading cause of visual impairment.

Castor Oil - is a vegetable oil obtained from the castor bean. Castor oil is very soothing and lubricating to the skin because it is rich in fatty acids. It acts as a humectant attracting moisture to the skin.

Cedar (or Cedarwood) Essential Oil - therapeutic properties of cedar wood oil are anti-seborrhoeic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, tonic, astringent, diuretic, expectorant, insecticide, sedative and fungicide. Cedarwood oil benefits the skin by its sedating ability that relieves itching. Its astringent action is great for acne, oily skin, as well as for hair and dandruff. It helps with chest and urinary infections, acts as a general tonic and has a pronounced effect on mucus membranes. It has a calming and soothing effect on the mind and is of great help in conditions associated with anxiety and nervous tension. It is also of value in cases of arthritis and rheumatism.

Chamomile Flowers - antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties of chamomile make it a widely used external treatment for acne, arthritis, burns, ulcerated areas of skin, and even diaper rash. Can also be used to combat inflammation, stimulate the regeneration of cell tissue, and promote the healing of refractory wounds and skin ulcers.

Chamomile Essential Oil - Oil derived from an aromatic perennial herb (Chamaemelum nobile) in the composite family, native to Europe and the Mediterranean region, having feathery foliage and flower heads with white rays and yellow centers. Chamomile is extremely effective on the skin, not only to sooth and calm, but to heal and for tissue regeneration. It can be used to calm acne, eczema, rashes, wounds, and dermatitis, dry and itchy skin and other allergic conditions.

Charcoal (activated) - Activated charcoal is commonly used in emergency treatment for specific kinds of poisonings and drug overdoses to keep the poison from being absorbed from the stomach into the body. Activated charcoal is one of the finest absorptive and adsorptive agents known.

Citric Acid - Citric Acid is derived from citrus and used primarily to adjust the pH of products to prevent them from being too alkaline or acid-alkali balance. It is also an all-natural mild preservative and sequestering agent. It is used in shampoos, conditioners, and shower gels and in bath bombs, mixed with sodium bicarbonate makes the water fizz.

Citronella E.O. - Fragrant oil from the tall herb that is the best natural non-toxic mosquito repellent you can find. Light, fresh lemon scent with geranium-like notes. Purifying and vitalizing aroma.

Clove - Spice from dried unopened flower bud of the clove tree; used whole or ground. Clove oil can be used for acne, bruises, burns and cuts, keeping infection at bay and as a pain reliever.

Cocoa Butter - A yellow-white fat from cocoa beans. Rich in nutrients essential for skin repair, this is a very rich & intensive cream that will rehydrate and feed dry, hungry skin.

Coconut Oil - Oil derived from coconuts. Enhances soaps hardness and produces creamy lather, but has a tendency to dry the skin. Wherever the coconut palm grows the people have learned of its importance as an effective medicine. In traditional medicine around the world coconut is used to treat a wide variety of health problems. On the skin, coconut oil can kills fungi and yeasts that cause candidiasis, ringworm, athlete's foot, thrush, diaper rash, and other infections. It can reduce inflammation and supports tissue healing and repair.

Coconut Milk Powder - Powder derived from the dried milk of coconuts.

Collagen - is the principal constituent of connective tissue. It retains large amounts of water, improves skin elasticity and has excellent film forming properties. Also helps to alleviate dry flaky skin.

Collagen Amino Acids - highly substantive. The ability of collagen amino acids to penetrate into the hair cuticle or upper layers of the skin is thought to lead to greater moisture uptake.

Colorants - Pigments used to color soap. We try to use all natural ingredients to color our soaps, but in some soaps we use micas, ultramarines or oxides. These colorants are the names of a group of naturally occurring Earth's minerals that are mined from around the world, purified, and crushed into fine powders. All of our colorants are FDA approved for safety.

Corn Starch - produced through the milling of corn to extract the starch, which is then processed and dried to a fine powder. For cosmetics, the most well known use of cornstarch is in powders as a natural, healthier alternative to talc.

Essential Oils - high-quality oils distilled from the leaves, flowers, barks, berries, and roots of various herbs and shrubs. Mostly used for therapeutic and medicinal qualities.

Eucalyptus Leaves - is a diverse genus of trees, the members of which dominate the tree flora of Australia. Rubbed on the skin, eucalyptus has been known to stimulates blood flow and generates a feeling of warmth that may help relieve minor muscle soreness.

European Sea Salts - European Sea Salts are solar evaporated and harvested from the pristine waters of the Mediterranean Sea in Southern France. They are evaporated to a sparkling white by the sun and ocean air. European Spas are famous for their in-depth knowledge of natural healing and therapy. Evening Primrose Oil - contains a high concentration of a fatty acid called GLA and it is this fatty acid that is largely responsible for the remarkable healing properties of the plant. Fragrance Oils - blends of oil with natural/synthetic or just synthetic.

Frankincense - also know as Frankincense Tears is an aromatic gum resin obtained from various Arabian or East African trees; formerly valued for worship. The essential oil has a wonderfully calming effect on the mind and helps to create inner peace, while helping to sooth the respiratory and urinary tract and relieve pain associated with rheumatism and muscular aches, while having a rejuvenating, balancing and healing action on the skin. Frankincense burned as incense is used as an inhalant and an expectorant during coughs and colds. It helps in clearing the lungs and is very useful in helping one to deepen their breaths in order to overcome the shortness of breath associated with asthma and bronchitis. It is also known to be an anti-catarrhal that means it heals and soothes inflammation of mucous membranes, especially in the nose and throat therefore it is also good to use if you have laryngitis. Frankincense oil is excellent for the whole respiratory system.

Goat Milk - Goat's milk has twice the Vitamin A and 50% more Vitamin B than cow's milk, as well as more calcium and protein. Even more importantly, it has an unusual molecular structure that allows for easy absorption, which makes it an ideal skin care ingredient. Higher absorption means more effective moisturizing. As goat's milk has wonderful restorative and moisturizing properties for your skin, it is also mild enough for sensitive or troubled skin and gentle enough for a baby. Golden Jojoba Oil - Jojoba Oil is a cold pressed ester from the seeds of the desert shrub Simmondsia Chinensis. It is often found growing wild in the southwestern United States and arid areas throughout the world. The resultant "oil" is a beautiful natural golden color. Jojoba Oil is actually not an oil, but an array of wax esters. Jojoba oil has very good effects on the skin, acting as a moisturizer and emollient agent to improve skin elasticity and suppleness.

Glycerin - a wonderfully emollient sweet, thick liquid found in various oils and fats and can be used to moisturize and protect the skin. Glycerin is a humectant, meaning it attracts moisture to your skin.

Grape Seed Oil - high in vitamin E, C, D and Beta-carotene. Grape seed oil also contains linoleic acid, oleic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid and palmit oleic acid. Israeli Dead Sea Black Mineral Mud - Our Dead Sea Mud is collected from the sediment on the banks of the Dead Sea where sulfuric springs flow. Lactic Acid - Lactic acid is an alpha hydroxyl acid that exfoliates cells on the surface of skin by breaking down the material that holds skin cells together. It is also used to hydrate and smooth dry, flaking skin. Alpha hydroxy acids are derived from fruit and milk sugars and have a special ability to penetrate the skin. Alpha hydroxyl acids work mainly as an exfoliant. They cause the cells of the epidermis (skin) to become "unglued" allowing the dead skin cells to slough off, making room for re-growth of new skin. Alpha hydroxyl acids may even stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. Alpha hydroxyl acids are reported to improve wrinkling, roughness, and mottled pigmentation of photo damaged skin after months of daily application. Warning! Use of Lactic Acids can make people more susceptible to the damaging effects of the sun. Therefore, the United States Food & Drug Administration recommends the use of sun protection when using skincare products containing salicylic acid on sun-exposed skin areas.

Lanolin - an emollient with moisturizing properties and an emulsifier with high water absorbing capabilities; yellow substance from wool-bearing animals that acts as a skin ointment. Also known to closely resemble the oil from human oil glands. Lanolin will soothe, soften and protect the skin. A great addition for those times when skin becomes dry chapped or cracked.

Lard - The white solid or semisolid rendered fat of swine. Soaps made with lard are quite mild to the skin and reasonably hard to the touch.

Lavender - any of various aromatic Old World plants of the genus Lavandula, having clusters of small purplish flowers that yield oil used in perfumery. Aromatic Benefits: relaxing, calming, refreshing, balancing, cooling and soothing. Properties: antibacterial, antibiotic, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antidepressant, antiseptic, antiviral, antispasmodic, detoxifying, disinfectant, decongestant, normalizes blood pressure and sedative. Can also reduce redness.

Lemon Essential Oil - pressed from the rind of the fruit. It usually has a pale yellow color and smells just like a fresh lemon, only with more tang and richness. Lemon oil has a fresh, uplifting scent. Lemon oil is astringent and detoxifying and is therefore great for blemishes associated with oily skin. Lemon oil also has rejuvenating properties and will brighten dull skin. Eases hypertension, relieves herpes, promotes immune system health, alleviates cellulites, targets obesity, edema, lymph nodes, treats acne, boils, oily skin, corns, warts, wrinkles, fever, inflamed and painful joints, gout, PMS, jet lag, mouth ulcers, asthma, throat and upper respiratory ailments, hair loss, poor circulation, nosebleeds, depression, dissipates confusion, aids concentration, and works as an anti-bactericidal.

Loofah Sponge - the dried fibrous part of the fruit of a plant of the genus Luffa, used as a washing sponge.

The circulation is increased by stimulation of the capillary activity, and it promotes absorption of nutrients and increases the number of white blood cells. Hailed for its anti-inflammatory and disinfectant properties, myrrh has historically been used for ailments as diverse as stomach pain, indigestion, poor circulation, wound healing, certain skin diseases and is a wonderful healer for dermatitis, eczema, bruises and difficult to heal wounds. . Soothes and softens skin, simulates skin cell regeneration, improves circulation, preservative. Antiseptic, reduces inflammation, helps heal blemishes and wounds. Myrrh oil is non-irritant and non-sensitizing but could be toxic in high dosage and should not be used in pregnancy as it can act as a uterine stimulant.

Neroli Essential Oil - is one of the most popular essential oils, as it not only has great therapeutic properties, but also has the most incredible smell. It has a greatly relaxing effect on the body and mind, relieving muscle spasms, calming heart palpitations and has a wonderful rejuvenating and regenerative effect on the skin, helping to prevent ugly scarring and fighting stretch marks.

Oatmeal - A very mild exfoliant. Great for people with sensitive skin that need minor skin exfoliation.

Olive Oil - oil pressed from Olives. Olive oil has anti-aging and anti-wrinkling properties, a good antioxidant and assuredly an excellent moisturizing ingredient. Olive oil makes a creamy but very hard bar of soap, and is gentle enough for babies and those with sensitive skin.

Palm Oil (white) - expressed from certain types of palm trees, including the trunk and leaves, and the tree's large seeds. Palm oil makes for a mild soap with a long-lasting lather and enhances the final hardness of the bar. Like coconut oil, however, palm oil tends to be slightly drying to the skin. Palm oil is far superior to other vegetable oils and is universal and used in many expensive luxury soaps.

Passion Flower - Passiflora incarnata (herb petals) - Passion Flowers are a native perennial vine of the Southeastern United States. Passionflower is edible and medicinal. There is scientific evidence of the medicinal constituents of this herb. Recent studies have pointed to the flavonoids in the Passion Flower as the primary constituents responsible for its relaxing and having anti-anxiety effects.
